Alexa, Roast Me a Chicken!

Back in the day, Amazon’s Alexa smart assistant could only do basic things, like tell you the weather, read you news stories, and misinterpret the items you tried to add to your shopping list.

Now, as Amazon adds Alexa to more and more appliances and home automation gadgets, Alexa’s capabilities have grown dramatically.

Case in point: with the new Amazon Smart Oven, Alexa can now roast you a full chicken. You literally get to give the voice command “Alexa, roast a whole chicken”, which is highly gratifying.

I’ll be covering the Smart Oven in an upcoming article on Debugger, but here’s a preview of Alexa’s chicken roasting functions.

How did the chicken come out? You’ll have to follow me on Debugger and look for my full article to find out!

In the meanwhile, check out this great piece by Will Oremus on OneZero, which clued me into the Smart Oven’s existence.
