Jews are a diverse religious and ethnic group spanning many countries, communities and historical traditions. We don’t “let” anyone represent us. The idea that Jews as a group act together in some kind of coordinated way is itself problematic.

More often, I find that non Jewish people look at the most physically and politically visible Jewish groups and then generalize their actions to all Jewish people.

You’d be amazed how often I’m told “You’re Jewish? But you don’t have the hair!”
