Thanks, Jordan. Yes, I love to highlight the work of food businesses that are either doing great work in the Bay Area (not just SF itself) or are engaging with people here. And yes, I praise the places that I like, because I want to highlight people doing great stuff in our area. My policy is this: if I love a place's food, I'll write about it. If I don't love their food or product, I'll send my comments directly to them, so they can hopefully make improvements. I realize that makes my published local content almost always positive, and some people don't engage with that. But again, I'd rather share criticism offline so that businesses can hopefully improve, rather than writing negative things about them in a public forum.
