The Covid-19 Shot is the Best Vaccine Ever Developed: NY Times

It’s up to 100% effective, but public health officials aren’t sharing this

The New York Times reported this morning that the effectiveness of the new Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna is likely being understated by public health officials.

According to the Times, the vaccines are likely almost 100% effective against the disease. Their reporting revealed that of the tens of thousands of participants who participated in trials of the vaccines, only one person had a severe case of Covid-19.

Others were either totally protected, or experienced extremely mild cases, akin to having a cold or mild flu. This makes the vaccines the best ones ever developed. The Times called them “ridiculously effective.”

The Times says that some epidemiologists are becoming frustrated by public health messages that downplay the vaccine’s incredible effectiveness. Many feel that the public is being mislead, just as they were mislead about masks early in the pandemic by…
