Yes I should clarify, if you’re paying an agency less than $50, you’re unlikely to get domestic writers. I’m assuming my employer marked up my $15 per hour rate by at least 100% before billing theIt client, and also that they paid their editor something. So $50 to the agency meant $15 per article to the writer, which works out to probably about $3 to $5 per hour for most writers.

$50 per article is a fine rate for many writers domestically, if all that money is going to the writer themselves.
